Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Identify inefficiencies during the production to help save labor and materials
  • Improve production lead time with high quality deliverables
  • Promote efficient processes and workflow to improve productivity
  • Control budget spending of labor and materials
  • Continuously promote new initiates to improve productivity and efficiency in production
  • Develop, review, update and implement Production Standards
  • Forecast future requirements or restrictions for production and assist in scheduling processes as necessary
  • Prepare all production reports that are required
  • Manage Day-to-day production and supervision of Technician and Body Team
  • Define and communicate duties and responsibilities to group leaders and staff
  • Coordinate with group leaders and staff for problem solving as required
  • Teach and train group leaders how to meet their duties and responsibilities
  • Coordinate within departments to meet company goals and objectives
  • Support team when they are ordering parts, materials and supplies to cut down material cost
  • Follow-up on various problems as they arise or are assigned
  • Maintain a fair and consistent corrective action process
  • Oversees production and quality control department including employees and production
  • Attend meetings and communicate necessary information to others
  • Administer all company policies and procedures fairly
  • Support the team in implementing employee development programs, SOPs and other training materials to help grow internal talent
  • Coordinate production and continually develop the team’s skills and techniques
  • Audit quality of completed work for each technician
  • Communicate clearly and effectively internally regarding workflow and production
  • Promote safety and good housekeeping
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Gunther Werks


Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
  • 5+ years automotive manufacturing management experience required
  • Production Manager experience preferred
  • Automotive Industry experience preferred
  • Proven ability to lead, motivate and develop the production team. Good interpersonal, organization and communication skills.
  • Must demonstrate strong decision-making skills, sound judgment and the ability to adapt to a rapidly changing work environment
  • Intermediate computer skills required including MS Word, Excel and Email
  • Must have high levels of attention to detail, be able to multitask and stay organized
  • Must demonstrate the ability to act professionally

  • Disassembly, Restoration and Reassembly of donor car parts
  • Must have strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
  • Meet production build schedule deadlines
  • Meet quality standards

Porsche experience and/or German European auto repair experience would be a benefit, but not essential.

Experience in Fabrication or Interior installation would be considered advantageous.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.00 - $40.00 per hour

 

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ownership of all electronics related components including engine and body systems, air conditioning, lighting, audio etc.
  • Lead electronics department in support of one production vehicle per month initially, including assembly, modification, first start up and engine calibration via motec M600 ECU ensuring all systems are functioning nominally.
  • Modify off the shelf components such as electric air conditioning, power steering and nose lift systems to be reliably integrated into a Gunther Werks restoration.
  • Install and wire auxiliary power distribution block used to provide fused power to all aftermarket electronics components.
  • Modify, install and terminate audio and GPS systems including speakers, microphones and additional HiFi options if selected.
  • Manage electronics projects and developments; work with outside vendors and engineers to lead improvements and further develop products and ideas.
  • Develop additional vehicle options per the special wishes department supporting sourcing and integration into vehicle specification.
  • Work with the production team to develop build specifications and quality standards.
  • Support our Parts department to create and maintain BOMs for all electrical components and cross functionally with engineering, and vendors to ensure all parts are available on time for each commission build.
  • Trouble shoot, diagnose and resolve any electrical issues on our vehicles including after sales.
  • Support the vetting and on-boarding of new team members, vendors and suppliers.
  • Ownership of electronics quality levels for each commission from initial vehicle teardown through delivery.
  • Define and deliver make vs. buy opportunities.
  • Provide departmental performance reports to management including transparency of issues and plan to resolve.

  • Program and setup 3-axis CNC Mills (Haas)
  • Work closely with engineering teams to provide crucial input on design for manufacturability
  • Open communication with engineers, management, and other team members
  • Design fixtures and tooling to setup complex machining operations for experimental parts

             

Requirements:

 

  • 5+ years of multi axis programming
  • Understand of speeds and feeds, able to edit G & M code from CNC controller
  • CAM programming with Solidworks/Mastercam preferred
  • Proficiency in high-speed machining and tool path optimization
  • Ability to program and machine complex and high tolerance components
  • Experience cutting a wide range of materials Aluminum, Plastics, Titanium, Copper, Brass, SST, 303, 304, 316, 440, 416, 1018, Tool steel

Duties and Responsibilities:

Plans, directs, coordinates, and controls activities of workers engaged in machining parts or machining into units by performing the following:

 

  • Manage employee schedules, training, production, and safety
  • Order all tooling such as end mills, drills, inserts, and safety related items
  • Maintains inventory of all machine shop assets including tools, fixtures and inserts
  • Adheres to shop schedule parts and material for machining and provides updates as need for updates.
  • Ensures tooling, prints and supplies are staged for production
  • Estimate machining times on jobs
  • Operate all machines if needed due to employee’s absence
  • General oversight of all aspects of machine shop production
  • Develops and provides input on machining requirements needed to determine the total labor and gross margin for a customer’s order.
  • Interfaces with other departments to ensure customer order deadlines are met.
  • Studies production schedules and estimates worker hour requirements for completion of job assignment.
  • Creates detailed sub-schedules to facilitate the development of the overall shop schedule.
  • Ensures that all of the employees in the department follow all safety rules and wear proper PPE for their job tasks and complete a JHA/JSA card prior to performing work.
  • Plans flow of materials through department
  • Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules while following safety guidelines in accordance with Engineering as required.
  • Recommends measures to improved production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
  • Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of shop, department, or work crew.
  • Initiates or suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals.
  • Maintains time and production records.
  • Estimates, requisitions, and inspects materials.
  • Confers with other supervisors to coordinate activities of individual departments.
  • Sets up machines and equipment.
  • Ensures TPM’ are done daily and reports machine and equipment malfunctions to maintenance personnel.

Required Experience / Education (describe scope of knowledge and ability of the position):

 

  • 7 – 10 Years of hands-on experience in a manufacturing / machining environment in Engineer-to-order type of products (High mix – low volume)
  • Degree in a Technical Discipline (Machine Technology, Electronic, or Industrial) or equivalent is a plus
  • Machining large pieces on large machines requiring cranes for setup
  • Machining of Stellite and other hard facings is a plus
  • Large Lathe, Mills and Grinder experience is required
  • CNC & Manual Experience required
  • Write/Edit programs for CNC machines
  • Develop/Review CNC CAM models and programs
  • Mazatrol, Tosnuc and Funuc operator experience is a plus
  • Gibbs CAM is a plus
