GXR-EVO

Limited to 15 units globally, GXR-Evo delivers an unrivaled air-cooled driving experience, forged in motorsport and engineered for maximum attack. The fastest naturally aspirated car in Gunther Werks history — limited to 15.

MONTEREY, Calif. (Aug. 14, 2026) – Gunther Werks has unveiled GXR-Evo, the fastest naturally aspirated car in the marque's storied history. Limited to 15 units globally, GXR-Evo is a celebration of the raw, the ultimate analog driving experience taken beyond the limit. The result is a machine that embodies driving at its most pure, where the visceral connection between man and machine is central to the experience. The GXR-Evo represents the next evolution of the company's feted attention to detail, transforming the iconic 993-generation platform into a purpose-built weapon engineered with a singular objective: to go faster.

“The GXR-Evo represents the purest interpretation of everything Gunther Werks stands for,” said Peter Nam, CEO and founder of Gunther Werks. “Every component has been designed with purpose, every surface shaped by function and every decision made to elevate the driving experience. This is a no compromise racing thoroughbred engineered to attack every apex with absolute precision. All while preserving the analog soul and legacy that is ingrained in the DNA of all Gunther Werks cars.”

Forged through nine years of relentless engineering development and motorsport-driven innovation. Every unnecessary gram has been removed, and every component scrutinized, optimized. Here function dictates form and every detail serves a purpose. The Evo sheds 210lbs over the Coupe and tips the scales at a dry weight of just 2,386 lbs. Constructed around a full carbon-fiber body finished in an exquisite 12k 2x2 carbon-fiber weave, the GXR-Evo has been optimized to generate maximum aerodynamic efficiency while minimizing weight. The aggressive front splitter and canards work in concert with integrated tunnels that flow air out the vented front fenders to relieve pressure and generate significant front-end downforce. At the rear, a newly engineered high-downforce wing with sculpted carbon-fiber endplates completes the aerodynamic package. The rear window has been deleted and replaced with an integrated shark-fin stability element, while carbon-fiber quarter windows allow air to flow into the engine.

Powering the GXR-Evo is a naturally aspirated 4.0-liter flat-six co-developed with the renowned air-cooled specialists at Rothsport Racing. Producing 455 horsepower, the four-cam twin-valve engine revs to nearly 9,000 rpm. It delivers power through a comprehensively re-engineered Getrag G50 six-speed manual transmission, preserving the mechanical engagement that defines every Gunther Werks commission. A specialized slide-valve throttle-body system replaces conventional butterfly valves, eliminating airflow obstruction within the intake tract to maximize volumetric efficiency. The result is razor-sharp throttle response and immediate power delivery, reinforcing the engine's naturally aspirated character.

A bespoke double-wishbone front suspension is paired with JRZ three-way adjustable remote-reservoir dampers, while Brembo Pista race brakes, motorsport-grade ABS, lightweight magnesium center-lock wheels and a competition-level tire pressure monitoring system provide confidence under the most demanding conditions. Combined with a raw straight-pipe exhaust system and a curb weight of just under 2,400 pounds, the GXR-Evo delivers an exceptional power-to-weight ratio and an intensely visceral driving experience.

The interior has been stripped to its essential purpose of maximizing driver performance. A Racetech carbon-Kevlar racing seat secured by a Schroth six-point harness anchors the driver safely within an eight-point roll cage. Ahead of the driver sits a fully configurable Motec digital display with integrated lap timing and race diagnostics, paired with an all-new quick-release steering wheel. Additional race-derived equipment includes a built-in pneumatic air-jack system, a digital rearview mirror with an integrated backup camera, an OMP electronic fire-suppression system and a driver helmet cooling system engineered to maintain comfort during extended track sessions.

As the final expression of exclusivity, each of the 15 GXR-Evo owners will receive a bespoke racing simulator designed in collaboration with MYSIM. Each unit is individually commissioned and numbered, hand-welded from 6061-T6 aluminum and clad in carbon-fiber panels, mirroring the car's construction. The steering wheel is engineered for simulator use while retaining the F1 style of the GXR-Evo, so the first input a driver makes is a familiar one. Precisely configured to mirror the dynamics of their individual vehicle, the simulator allows owners to refine their skills in the virtual world before taking to the circuit.

The GXR-Evo is an exercise in engineering created to bridge the gap between road legality and motorsport capability. Nearly every aspect of the vehicle has been remastered to deliver uncompromising circuit performance. With its fusion of advanced engineering, unbridled performance, lightweight construction and uncompromising analog engagement, the GXR-Evo stands as the definitive track-focused evolution of the air-cooled 911 silhouette and the most extreme expression of Gunther Werks’ philosophy ever created.
